Acceptable Use & Data Policy

Guidelines for using Redscraper tools responsibly and lawfully

This Acceptable Use & Data Policy outlines the permitted and prohibited uses of Redscraper software, our data handling practices, and user obligations regarding data compliance. By using our Desktop Software or Cloud-Based Tools, you agree to adhere to these guidelines.

1. Acceptable Use Policy

Redscraper tools are powerful data extraction engines designed to automate the collection of publicly accessible information from directories, search engines, and social platforms. To ensure a safe and lawful ecosystem, you must adhere to the following permitted and prohibited uses:

Permitted Uses

  • • Collecting publicly available business contact information for B2B outreach.
  • • Extracting structured data for academic or market research.
  • • Generating leads for marketing agencies, recruiters, and sales teams.
  • • Verifying the accuracy of your own existing email lists.

Prohibited Uses

  • • Extracting data hidden behind login walls or paywalls without authorization.
  • • Scraping personal, sensitive, or sensitive financial/health data.
  • • Utilizing extracted data to launch malicious phishing, spam, or harassment campaigns.
  • • Attempting to reverse-engineer or circumvent the software's security protocols.

2. Data Source & Compliance Policy

Redscraper provides the engine, not the data. We operate purely as a software provider that facilitates the extraction of information that is already publicly available on the internet.

Redscraper does not own, store, or maintain a centralized database of contact information. All extracted data is sourced in real-time by the user's execution of our tools.

User Compliance Obligations

Because users dictate what data is extracted and how it is used, users bear sole responsibility for ensuring their data collection and subsequent outreach activities comply with all applicable local, federal, and international laws.

  • GDPR (Europe): If extracting data belonging to EU citizens, users must ensure they have a lawful basis for processing that data (such as legitimate interest for B2B communications) and provide mechanisms for data subjects to opt-out.
  • CAN-SPAM (USA) / CASL (Canada): Users must adhere to anti-spam legislation when utilizing extracted emails for cold outreach campaigns. This includes accurately identifying the sender, providing a physical address, and honoring opt-out requests promptly.
  • CCPA (California): Users must respect the data privacy rights of California residents, including the right to know what personal information is being collected and the right to delete it.

3. Fair Usage Policy

To ensure a stable, reliable, and high-performance environment for all Redscraper users, we enforce a Fair Usage Policy across both our Desktop and Cloud platforms.

Desktop Unlimited Scraping

Redscraper Desktop Software is advertised with "unlimited" scraping capabilities. This means there are no hard caps imposed on the volume of data you can extract. However, "unlimited" is subject to fair use. Users are strictly prohibited from:

  • Deploying the software on large-scale automated server farms to artificially inflate extraction volume beyond typical human or single-business capacity.
  • Abusing the built-in proxy infrastructure by intentionally triggering continuous IP bans or intentionally overwhelming target servers via aggressive, multi-threaded request barrages (DDoS-like behavior).

Cloud Credit Usage

Redscraper Cloud Tools operate on a credit system to distribute computing resources fairly. Users must not:

  • Attempt to circumvent the credit deduction system using exploits, scripts, or multiple fraudulent trial accounts.
  • Share a single cloud account login credentials among multiple unassociated businesses to bypass per-user subscription limits.

Enforcement

Redscraper reserves the right to monitor account usage for anomalies. We may temporarily suspend, throttle, or permanently terminate any account or software license that violates this Acceptable Use & Data Policy, without prior notice or refund.
